Choosing a Doctor- Questions to Ask |

|
Tips when talking to your Fertility Doctor When you and your partner are ready to take the next step to solving that little mystery of not being able to get pregnant, we have some tips for you on your initial visit with the Reproductive Specialist. The first thing you must remember is that this should be a person you are completely comfortable with. Stress is a big factor when it comes to fertility. Choosing a Doctor The interviewing process is essential in locating a Specialist that will assist you and your partner in getting pregnant. You will want someone that is held in high regards within the community with no blemishes on their professional record. You will want a Fertility Specialist with the proper education and training. As you start to go through this process, you will become comfortable with a Fertility Specialist that is perfect for you. Another thing to remember is to not be shy about asking your Doctor questions like: Where did you go to school to get your degree? May I see your degree? Does the Doctor have any malpractice suits pending? How long have you been practicing Reproductive medicine? Ask if the Doctor is certified in IVF. Does the Doctor have any complaints against him/her (this can easily be done by searching the Doctors name in Google)? Choosing a Clinic The same way one looks closely at the Doctor they may be using, the same amount of effort should go into choosing a Fertility Clinic. The first thing we recommend is looking into The Better Business Bureau to see what grade the Clinic has. Always ask how long the clinic has been in business. What egg donor programs they may be affiliated with. Types of insurance the clinic accepts or other forms of payment. Treatments It is very important to understand what forms of treatment your Doctor or Fertility Clinic will be recommending. You and your partner will want to know how long they plan on administering the first treatment and how much that treatment will cost. You may want to ask the Doctor what drugs they will be using and how much the fertility drugs will cost. How long do they try the first treatment for until they move on to a different treatment? How many embryos do they transfer during each IVF cycles? Finally what are the risks involved with all treatments
